The Initial Consult
After receiving your inquiry and confirming availability, we’ll send over our investment guide with everything you need to know—collections, details, and next steps. From there, you’re welcome to schedule a video call so we can get to know each other, hear your wedding vision, and make sure it feels like the perfect fit.
Let's Make It Official
You know we’re the perfect addition to your team of wedding artists, and you’re ready to make it official. To reserve your date, you’ll sign the contract and submit the first 25% payment. The remaining balance is split into three additional payments—25% at 6 months out, 25% at 3 months out, and the final 25% due 14 days before your wedding.
The Engagement Session
If your coverage includes an engagement session, we’ll start planning your shoot—helping you choose a location, the best time of day for light, and a vibe that feels true to you. Engagement sessions are one of our favorite ways to slow down, connect, and help you feel natural in front of the camera before the wedding weekend arrives. Most sessions take place in Austin, but we’re always open to travel (anywhere from West Texas to Paris). If you’d like to plan a destination session, we’re happy to provide a travel estimate.
Logistics & Planning
Thoughtful planning makes for effortless photos. We’ll help with family photo lists, timeline flow, and a final check-in before the wedding—so your priorities are protected and your day feels easy.
It's Wedding Day!
We, Kelsey & Talon, arrive with a calm, artful presence—ready to document your wedding day as it naturally unfolds. We’ll guide you when you need it (especially during portraits), step back when you don’t, and preserve the honest moments, meaningful details, and real emotion you’ll want to return to for years to come.
Final Gallery Delivery
Within the first week after your wedding, you’ll receive a preview gallery while we carefully edit your full collection. Your final gallery will be delivered 10–12 weeks after your wedding in a beautiful online gallery, with film and digital images woven together seamlessly. From there, you can download your images, order prints, and cherish your gallery for years to come.

How long have you been photographing weddings?

We photographed our first wedding together in the summer of 2010. We went full time, in January 2012 as Feather & Twine. We've been photographing on film since 2015, both medium format and 35mm. We rebranded to Ruét Photo in 2024. Together, we have photographed over 400 weddings.

Can we meet with you before we decide to book?

Beyond having beautiful wedding photos, we feel that it is so important to have a photographer who you connect with. Connection is everything, and allows you to have images that really feel like you!

Do you photograph on film, digital, or both? Is there a fee to add film?
Q.

Short answer: both—every wedding includes film and digital photography. Film is not an add-on or an extra charge for us—it’s a core part of how we document weddings. We’ve been photographing weddings on film since 2015, and our film work includes a blend of medium format (120) and 35mm shot across a variety of cameras.
We pair film with digital coverage so your story is preserved with both artistry and reliability, and we’re fully prepared for everything from natural light to low-light receptions with the right tools and lighting throughout the day.

How many photos can we expect? How long is the turnaround time?

Your final wedding gallery will be delivered 10–12 weeks after your wedding as fully edited, high-resolution images in an online gallery, which will be available for one year. While we don’t guarantee a minimum or maximum number of photos, we curate your collection based on the natural flow of the day—your guest count, timeline, and total coverage. In general, couples can expect around 100 images per hour of coverage.
For engagement sessions, turnaround time is 4–6 weeks, and you can expect approximately 100–200 images.

What if I'm eloping, or having a wedding under 60 guests?

We have separate coverage collections for elopements and micro-weddings, as your needs are different than our larger weddings! We'd love to send you our collection options, starting from $1800 for elopements.

2. Presence over perfection. The most meaningful images come from real connection—not performance. The more you let yourselves feel the day, be fully in it, and trust us to guide you when needed, the more your gallery will reflect the true essence of your love.

Yes—absolutely. We’re lucky to work in one of the best wedding industries in the country, and we’ve gotten to know some truly talented artists along the way. Once your contract is signed, we’ll send you our full wedding planning guide, which includes a list of our most trusted vendor friends (and yes—videography recommendations are one of the most requested).
And if you’re getting married outside of Texas, we can help you source incredible vendors near your destination—thanks to the relationships we’ve built with wedding artists all over the world through our destination work.

We’re Austin-based, but we photograph weddings all over the world, from Portugal and Italy to New York and California. For destination weddings, we provide custom travel quotes based on your location and coverage needs.
We always travel a full day ahead of our shooting schedule to ensure a smooth, stress-free experience, and we take care of any location scouting before your events so we’re fully prepared when the weekend begins.

We are so happy and grateful to have worked with Kelsey & Talon for our wedding in Italy. Kelsey and Talon are professional, talented, and hard-working; they are also so warm, down to earth, and fun to be around. For our big day, Kelsey & Talon fit in so well. In the bridal suite, Kelsey routinely showered me and my bridesmaids with compliments and support. My husband and groomsmen were so grateful for Talon’s direction and calm presence. During the ceremony, Kelsey and Talon were completely invisible and we were able to completely live in the moment. After our ceremony, Kelsey and Talon had a plan to capture all the most beautiful and special places throughout our rustic Italian venue. Every time we look at our photos, we are transported back to the venue and back to all of our emotions of the day. I don’t think you really need to read reviews to know that Kelsey & Talon are the most talented people you will ever meet, their amazing work says it all. But if you will allow me to rave about them even further, please continue reading. I’ve been a big fan of Ruét for years and when I got engaged, I knew I had to have them photograph our wedding. Yes, we did plan our wedding date around their schedule, and it was one of the BEST decisions we’ve ever made (right after deciding to marry each other that is). As a photographer myself, I know how hard it is to be able to capture those organic moments, and they just nail it.. every single time. I could go on days on how amazing Kelsey and Talon are but I will let you experience it yourself because you really shouldn’t look further for the perfect photographers. Trust me, the only regret I have ever heard from friends that relates to Ruét was that they didn’t book them.
